Software Readiness Assessment
A clear answer on whether to convert, and to what.
Overview
Changing accounting systems is expensive, disruptive and hard to undo. Before you commit, you deserve a clear answer to two questions: do you actually need a new system, and if so, which one?
Sometimes the answer is a new platform. Sometimes it’s a better-configured version of the one you already have. A readiness assessment tells you which, before you spend more than you should finding out the hard way.
I look at your system the way your finance team, your IT partners and your leadership each experience it, and translate between them, so the recommendation makes sense to everyone who has to live with it.
Is this you?
- Simple questions take days to answer, or come back as three different numbers.
- Your team rebuilds reports in spreadsheets because the system can’t produce them.
- You keep hearing “the system can’t do that” about things that feel basic.
- You’re on QuickBooks or MIP Fund Accounting and wondering whether it’s time for something like Sage Intacct.
- Leadership or the board wants a recommendation they can trust before anyone spends money.
What’s included
- Conversations with your finance team, your leadership and the staff who use the system every day
- A review of your current system, chart of accounts and reports, and the workarounds around them
- The requirements that matter for your organization, including fund, grant and program tracking
- An honest comparison: reconfigure what you have, or move to a new system, and which one
- A written recommendation in plain language, with a realistic roadmap for what comes next
How it works

Free discovery call
We talk through what’s prompting the question and who needs to be part of the answer.
-
Listen and review
I meet with the people who use the system and look at how information actually moves.

Every engagement starts with a conversation
Tell me what’s going on with your systems, your close or your reporting. The discovery call is free: we’ll talk it through, and if it’s a fit, you’ll get a firm written quote, fixed fee or hourly.
