Who Owns the Number?
"Nobody likes the accounting department." I've heard some version of that sentence at almost every organization I've led.

Fixing the workflows that feed accounting, so the close gets faster and the numbers more reliable.
A slow close is rarely an accounting problem on its own. It usually starts upstream: receipts that arrive late, coding nobody explained, approvals sitting in someone’s inbox, and data that gets re-keyed before it ever reaches the general ledger.
I look at the whole path, not just the accounting department, and fix the workflows that feed it. The goal is a faster close and numbers people trust, without asking your team to work longer hours.
Most of this work is about people as much as process. When budget owners understand what their codes mean, and accounting explains corrections instead of quietly making them, the same problems stop coming back every month.
We map how information moves today, with the people who actually do the work.
I pinpoint the bottlenecks, workarounds and handoffs that slow the close down.
You get a prioritized plan: what to change, in what order, and who owns each step.
Your team makes the changes, with as much or as little of my help as you need.
Results from my roles as a CFO, Controller and VP of Finance before I founded ClearSpeak in 2026, not from ClearSpeak client engagements.
