Pricing
Pricing and how I work
Every engagement begins with a free discovery call, followed by a firm written quote. Fixed fee or hourly, scoped to what you actually need.
My approach
Why my prices are right here
Nothing was more frustrating as an executive than having a conversation with a consultant who refused to offer me even the slightest idea of what their services could cost without an hour-long demo and sales pitch first. While I understood the reasoning behind this decision, I never appreciated giving up an hour of my time just to get to a number that was so astronomically outside my budget that it was laughable.
So, I refuse to operate that way. I have built my career, and all of my successes, on trust and transparent communication, because it works.
While I realize that means some may see these ranges and walk away, I believe clients are capable of understanding what they can realistically afford for the value they receive, and that the pricing below is a ballpark. Not specific to their organization, not a minimum or maximum, but a rough idea so they can decide if the free discovery call is worth their time to find out what I can offer at the price point that applies to their situation.

How an engagement starts
-
A free discovery call
Tell me what’s going on: the system, the close, the reporting, the people. I’ll ask questions and tell you honestly where I think I can help.
-
A firm written quote
You get a written quote that spells out the scope, what you’ll receive and the price. No surprises later.
-
Fixed fee or hourly
Choose a fixed fee for a defined scope, or hourly when the work is open-ended, with options for “not to exceed” for easy budget impact analysis. Most engagements blend services to fit what you actually need.
Service packages
These are packages that allow me to provide a general idea of pricing ahead of time. The reality is, you may need small pieces of assessment and optimization, or you may need a full conversion and then be interested in optimizing for the new system with ongoing support once it’s complete. Every organization is unique in its structure, needs, bandwidth, and people.
-

Questions about working together
- Why are the prices ranges?
- Every organization is unique in how they’re structured and what they need. Ranges offer a clearer reflection of potential scope, but it’s important to note that these are not minimums or maximums either. Your pricing could come in below the lowest number here or above it. It truly depends on what you need and the scope of the work I will be doing. This is why we start with a free discovery call prior to offering any pricing quotes.
- Can I combine services?
- Yes. Most engagements end up being a blend of services, scoped to what you actually need. A readiness assessment often leads into a conversion, and a conversion into ongoing support, but you can start at any stage.
- Do you work with for-profit companies?
- Yes. While my specialty is in nonprofit and fund accounting, the concepts I use in implementing change and the platforms I work with will work in any organizational structure.
- Where do you work?
- I’m based in Vancouver, Washington and work with organizations both locally and nationwide: on-site where it helps, remotely where it doesn’t.
- Do you provide audits or financial statement reviews?
- No. ClearSpeak doesn’t provide audit, review, compilation or other attest services. My work is accounting systems, finance processes and financial leadership.
Every engagement starts with a conversation
Tell me what’s going on with your systems, your close or your reporting. The discovery call is free: we’ll talk it through, and if it’s a fit, you’ll get a firm written quote, fixed fee or hourly.
